Automne 2016
Do you feel inconspicuous, anonymous? We hope not, but seeing and being seen can no longer be taken for granted in today’s highly individualistic, Western European society. Conscious of this situation, director Lucas De Man and designer Pascal Leboucq created an art installation entitled OOG designed to stop us navel-gazing. Well received abroad, OOG can now be experienced in Belgium for the first time. And an experience it certainly is! OOG will be in three locations in Mechelen from September 14th to November 6th 2016.

A life-like iris some four metres in diameter hangs from a building. You are wheeled through an opening in the wall and into the OOG from where you look out over Mechelen. After a while the eye closes and you are taken on an intimate, audiovisual journey on which you get to see not only society from a different perspective but also yourself.  And it will take your breath away.
